The D750 has been succeeded by the Nikon D780, but in some ways the newer camera has been defeatured: it has no built-in flash and no longer accepts a battery grip. The body is a light-weight weather-sealed monocoque construction with carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer at the front and magnesium alloy for the back and top. It’s a camera with interchangeable lenses that are equipped with a APS-C sensor. This Nikon was revealed to the public in 2010. ![]() The camera slows down due to the buffer filling up. I get it a lot when I shoot sports and I'm holding the shutter button down. When it reaches 0 it will dump pictures into your memory. ![]() Should I get the Nikon D7000 The Nikon D7000 has a resolution of 16 megapixels and a 3 screen. It mainly states the r-code is for the buffer count. The D750 has a tilting LCD screen (the first full-frame DSLR with an adjustable screen, although several Nikon DX bodies have tilting or fully articulated screens), and is cited as "the lightest among Nikon's traditional pro series". The Expeed 4 processor from D4S/D810 and built-in Wi-Fi enable functions from the D810. It has a newly developed 24.3-effective-megapixel image sensor (24.93 megapixel raw) with claimed lower image noise. The camera can shoot at 6.5 frames per second at full resolution. Nikon sees the D750 with "advanced video features" for videographers as well as a primary or secondary camera for fast handling and speed. The D750 includes technologies from the D810 in a smaller and lighter body, but with better low light performance, for both focus and image quality at high ISO. The D750 shares similar structure and controls with the cropped-frame D7500. The D600 and D610 evolved as a full-frame consumer cameras with similar structure and controls to the D7000 series of cropped frame cameras. Despite the 7, there is little relationship with the D700, which was the precursor to the D800. It is an extensive upgrade from the D610, but with the same general body and control characteristics, along with 24 megapixel resolution. So you'd be looking at $1,600 for the body only vs 1950 for the body only. The Nikon D750 is a full-frame DSLR camera announced by Nikon on September 12, 2014. In reality you have to deduct about $200.00 from the price of the 1800 one - since you're getting a battery grip. If it were a primary then I'd pay a little more and get the less used one. If it is a backup and temporary primary - then I'd go with the $1,800 one and get the battery grip. If you look at it as a bell curve - some cameras will last well beyond that count, some will last a lot less time, but the majority will be within 1 or 2 standard deviations of 150k in the case of the D700. ![]() ![]() Once you have done this, click on the Nikon tab and the shutter count will be displayed: The Preview App on MacOS can show the shutter count for Nikon cameras. If the inspector is not open, go to Tools > Show Inspector. The 150k or 300k or 450k mark is not magic - it is the mean time of fail based upon Nikon's testings. To display it, open any Raw or JPEG with Preview. Point is they can fail at any time for any number of reasons. I've had a D300 seize up at 115k clicks - cost to replace the shutter would have been $220 or so - I got it for "free" because I had the extended warrenty. Needless to say it went back to the dealer right away - they replaced it - no questions asked. I've had a D700 seize up at 5 clicks - I had just taken it out of the box, charged battery and put a memory card in - shot 5 photos - and it died. The whole 150k shutter thing amazes me - it is not written in stone that at 150k shutter clicks the camera is automatically going to seize up and stop working.
